so yesterday i woke up early, well if 7am is early thats when i woke up. it was mothers day so of course i went to wish my mama a happy mothers day and give her the gift that i bought. i love her so much. she is an amazing woman of God and a wonderful example. i truly hope that i will be as good of a mother as she is.
after getting ready to go i went to kasey's apartment. we left alittle after 8 and then we were on the road to toledo, ohio. we were going to visit his grandparents. about half way through our trip, i had to pee so badly, and of course no rest stops. so kasey was cruising so we could find some where to pee. then kasey said, "if we get pulled over, my story will be, you are pregnant and you really had to pee and i was just trying to get you to the bathroom. can you put your sweatshirt under your shirt?" laughter and the urge to pee do not mix. but he did finally find some off the wall taco place that opens at 6am so i could pee. but who wants to eat tacos at 6am?
after about 2 and 1/2 hours in the car, we arrived in toledo. we had to stop at meijer to pick up a couple mothers day cards and gifts for kasey's family. being that it was mother's day afternoon, there were only like 20 mother's day cards picked out. so there was pretty limited selection to pick from. kasey picked out a wonderfully written card for his step mom, the only thing is that it was all in spanish. and then he did pick out a really funny card for his grandma.
then we were off to find a plant or flowers or something. so we are walking around looking and a lady from meijer told us that they had some beautiful hanging baskets in the garden center and they started at $9.99. kasey and i looked at each other and we were like cool, let's go. so we went out to the garden center, and i think when that lady said "beautiful" she really meant "dead." because there were only a couple of plants that even looked alive. so stratch that, back inside we found a couple of potted flowers that were very pretty, kasey did a good job picking them out. :)
so kasey and i were all finshed with picking things out so we got in line at the check out. in front of us, was this lady. she was probably 40ish. mom jeans. crazy hair. all of a sudden, her phone goes off. "my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard...." mind you, this is at full blast. and she is having trouble getting her cell phone out of her mom jeans. i was trying with all of my might to not laugh. but that probably lasted for about 15 seconds. i was practically crying because i was laughing so hard. kasey's face was bright red trying to hold in his laughter. and by now, she still has not answered her phone, it is still playing that song. i literally had to turn around so that woman wouldnt not see me laughing. and as i write this, i am still laughing about it.
then when it was our time to get checked out, the clerk was talking to kasey. she said "well, happy mother's day!" and kasey said, "oh i'm not a mother, but happy mother's day to you, if you are a mother!" and then she said something. then kasey, looking to me, said, "oh well, she's going to be a mother soon, though." i think he was a little disappointed that he couldnt use that story for when a cop pulled us over so he had to say something now.
then we visited with his family. his dad brought his motorcycle up from kentucky so on our way home, i drove his car home and he rode the motorcycle. it was so weird, i was driving by myself and i kept making mental notes about all the things i wanted to make sure i talked to him about. of course 90% of those things i didnt remember.
anyway. it was such a good day. i should probably get moving on my day. i have so much left to do for india.
:)
