when you know who you are, you know what to do.

the last several weeks our church, lifechurch.tv, has been doing a series titled "who do you think you are?"

interesting isnt it, that when you know who you are, you know what to do. this concept applies to so many things. i'll relate it to nursing since that seems to be my only lens lately.

this semester has been so challenging. but in such a good way. i have loved OB. i dont think i want to do anything else. this semester requires you to not think like a student nurse anymore. it requires you to think like a nurse. the deeper i have gotten into this semester, the more i have thought of myself as a nurse. not a student nurse with a deer in the headlights look. but a real nurse. its a very exciting feeling. almost liberating. for so long, i truly believed i knew nothing. i even remember sitting down with a peer i didnt know and crying and telling her that i thought i was going to make a bad nurse. but the moment i began seeing myself as a real nurse, i began to act like one. i began taking almost full responsibility for my patients. it was almost like instinct. never felt anything like it.

when you know who you are, you know what to do.

do you know who you really are?
